Next Tuesday, January 8, hear healthcare planning and travel tips from the “real” experts – transplant recipient travelers! You will learn how your transplant center can assist you with making sure you know what to do, especially in an emergency while away from home.

An all day conference held at the Northcentral Technical College, Wausau, Wisconsin campus.
PURPOSE: To enhance safety practices and increase staff knowledge of care of the ESRD patient by involving the dialysis team, patient caregivers, and the patient.
TARGET AUDIENCE: Patient care technicians, nephrology nurses, social workers, renal dietitians and full-time students engaged in healthcare training programs.
CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS: Patient care technicians and nurses will be eligible to receive 7.25 contact hours by attending this event AND completing the final evaluation.

March 31 is the National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin Game at the Milwaukee Wave game against the newly organized Orlando Sea Wolves. $5 from every ticket sold will go directly to the National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin. A Post-Game Autograph session is also planned and every fan attending will receive a pair of Wave Athletic socks.

The National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin is hosting its annual Spotlight on Life Gala to shine a light on those who are waiting for a life-saving transplant and bring awareness to the need for organ, tissue and eye donation.
A Special Anniversary
2020 celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Wisconsin Online Donor Registry. The National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin is a partner organization of Donate Life Wisconsin, which helped make the registry available to residents state-wide. By registering, you authorize the gift of your organs, tissue and eyes upon your death for donation. We pay tribute to the almost 60% of Wisconsin driver’s license and ID holders who have said YES to donation!
SPOTLIGHT ON LIFE is a unique event that combines dancing, rivalry and fun to make it an evening to remember. Guests will enjoy an elegant reception, buffet dinner, reserved seating for the dance competition and after-party dancing with a DJ. The main event is a dancing with the stars-style competition where local community and healthcare superstars, paired with Fred Astaire Dance Professionals, to perform in a dance competition while raising funds to support the activities and programs of the National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin.
One of the awards the dancers are vying for is the People’s Choice Award, which goes to the dancer that receives the most votes ($1 donations). Read this year’s dancers’ stories about their connection to organ, tissue and eye donation and why they are dancing on the National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin’s website and consider voting – making a donation.

The National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin is hosting its 9th annual Spotlight on Life Gala to shine a light on those waiting for the gift of life.
The evening will feature a Dancing with the Stars-style competition featuring Wisconsin’s community and healthcare superstars.
Guest will enjoy an elegant reception, a 3-course dinner, a dessert and coffee bar and after-party dancing with a DJ.
All contributions raised will be used for free 2019 programs and services to patients waiting for a life-saving transplant, transplant recipients, and living donors.
