About this Design
In 2025, National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin was proud to partner alongside UW Health Transplant Center to facilitate a poster design contest to build awareness of organ donation and transplant. High school artists from across Wisconsin submitted original designs reflecting on the prompt “In gratitude for the gift of organ donation.”
The winning artist, Luciano is a student in Wauwatosa, WI. He was inspired to create this design, “A Selfless Act; A Gift For My Sister” by his younger sister’s journey as pediatric kidney patient. Life changed for his sister, and their whole family, when a selfless organ donor gave the gift of life through kidney transplantation. With this design, Luciano shows his gratitude for the donor who saved his sister’s life, the enduring bond between donor and recipient, and uplifting the hope that kidney transplant can bring.
