The Wisconsin Dialysis Symposium is an annual, day-long continuing education program coordinated by the National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin in collaboration with nephrology and dialysis related professional organizations.

Continuing education credits are available for social workers, nurses, dietitians and patient care technicians. Full time students training for a healthcare career at a technical school or university are highly encouraged to attend for a reduced registration cost.

New this year will be a Welcome Reception on Wednesday evening. This will be a great time to meet up with colleagues from other facilities and to interact with professionals from a variety of disciplines.

Here are some of the presentations you will not want to miss:

  • Cannabis and Cannabinoids: Impacts on Care of Dialysis Patients
  • Hmong 101: Bridging the Gap Between Hmong and Western Health Care
  • Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CASE)
  • Palliative Care and Ethics
  • Boundaries and Compassion Fatigue
  • Plant Based Diets in Dialysis? Kale Yeah!
  • Transplant Eligibility: Froedtert, Advocate Aurora, UW Health, Mayo
  • Nutritional Challenges & Interventions in Peritoneal Dialysis
  • Real Facts About Fluid Overload

The day’s activities will also include:
