Every 10 minutes there is a new name added to
the national organ transplant waiting list.

Over 2,500 families in Wisconsin are hoping that their loved one will get an organ.

Join organ, tissue, and eye donation ambassadors at the 5th annual Capital City 5K to raise awareness for the gift of life. The 5K, USATF certified course is managed by Next Level Sports and takes place on a warm summer evening in beautiful Madison, WI. Beginning at twilight on the Capitol Square, winding along the lakeshore path, and ending at Goodman Park for a private pool party, it’s a run/walk that creates a community. This year, we will also celebrate the 5th anniversary of Wisconsin’s online donor registry (

All funds go to support the National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin's programs and services for organ, tissue, and eye donors and families across Wisconsin.

Registration is non-transferable and non-refundable.

  • 6:30 p.m.                     Capital City 5K Run/Walk for Organ, Tissue and Eye Donation                                          (Capitol Square – Madison)
  • 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.           Capital City 5K Private Pool Party and Race Awards Ceremony                                         (Goodman Pool)


Who can run/walk?

  • Anyone 12 years and over can walk or run
  • Parents have the option to register children 11 and under for free and can purchase a youth t-shirt

Can I form a team?

  • Yes! Teams are eligible for special recognition and make the event more fun

Where can I park?

  • Parking is a challenge throughout downtown Madison and the Goodman Park area. Packet pick-up will be extended this year to allow for less congestion. We encourage carpooling and offer shuttles to try and alleviate any parking issues.
