Fact #1:
In Wisconsin, 40% of people with chronic kidney disease (CKD) have diabetes and 25% with CKD have high blood pressure.

Dialysis Peritoneal Dialysis:

Dialysis is one way of cleaning your blood when your kidneys can no longer do the job. In peritoneal dialysis the inside lining of your own stomach acts as a natural filter. A soft plastic tube (catheter) is placed in your stomach by surgery. A sterile cleaning fluid is put into your stomach through this catheter. After the filtering process is finished, the fluid leaves your body through the catheter.

To learn more about peritoneal dialysis, call 1-800-543-6393 x13 for a free brochure, or to view a brochure online, please visit our national site at www.kidney.org and type peritoneal dialysis into the search icon.
