“[MILWAUKEE] – Accessing free and nearly free prescription medicines just got e a lot easier for Wisconsin’s low-income, uninsured patients. Today, America’s pharmaceutical companies, doctors, patient advocacy organizations and civic groups in Wisconsin announced the creation of the Partnership for Prescription Assistance, a cooperative effort to enhance awareness of and enrollment in existing public and private patient assistance programs.
By offering a Web site (www.pparx.org) and a toll-free number (1-888-4PPA-NOW) fo accessing information and applications, the Partnership for Prescription Assistance reaches out to patients in need and simplifies the process by which they may receive free or nearly free medicines. Patients who call 1-888-4PPA-NOW will speak with a trained specialist who will provide them with information on application processes for relevant patient assistance programs.
………
The Partnership for Prescription Assistance offers a single point of access to more than 275 public and private patient assistance programs, including more than 150 programs offered by pharmaceutical companies. Though the criteria for eligibility vary from program to program, patients who do not have prescription drug coverage and have difficulty affording their medicines can now call 1-888-4PPA-NOW to learn if they may be eligible for free or nearly free medicines.
