Fact #1:
In Wisconsin, 42% of people with chronic kidney disease (CKD) have diabetes and 26% with CKD have high blood pressure.

Dialysis Hemodialysis:

Dialysis is one way of cleaning your blood when your kidneys can no longer do the job. In hemodialysis, a dialysis machine and a special filter called an artificial kidney, or a dialyzer, are used to clean your blood. To get you blood into the dialyzer, the doctor needs to make an access, or entrance, into your blood vessels. This is done with minor surgery, usually to your arm.

To learn more about hemodialysis call 1-800-543-6393 x13 for a free brochure, or to view a brochure online, please visit our national site at www.kidney.org and type hemodialysis into the Search icon.
